Chicago man charged in armed Portage Park carjacking: police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 19-year-old Chicago man has been charged in an armed carjacking Tuesday evening on Chicago's Northwest Side, Chicago police said Wednesday.

Armahn Johnson has been charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking, aggravated fleeing police, aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon without a firearm owners identification card under 21 and more in the incident, CPD said.



Johnson was arrested just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 0-100-block of West Garfield Boulevard on the South Side.

CPD said, about 45 minutes earlier, Johnson took a vehicle at gunpoint from a 20-year-old man and 47-year-old man in the 4000-block of North Laramie Avenue in Portage Park.



Johnson is due in court Thursday.
