Woman charged in deadly Englewood shooting, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman has been charged with the homicide of a woman on the city's South Side, Chicago police said.



The shooting happened on Friday at about 7:29 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Peoria Street in Englewood

Chicago police say the victim was walking around when she was shot in the chest and back. She later died at the hospital.

On Monday, police said 40-year-old Carlita Jenkins was charged with first degree murder.



She is due in court on Monday.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
