CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Cook County official who was charged with driving under the influence in November of 2024 was found not guilty Tuesday.

Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele was arrested after a two-car crash on North Ashland Avenue on the city's North Side, Chicago police said.

Police said they found an open bottle of wine in Steele's car.

Steele was charged with a misdemeanor.

One of the officers at the scene testified that Steele refused to take a sobriety test.

Steel was found not guilty by a judge in a bench trial Tuesday on the grounds that the alcoholic beverage container was capped and bagged, and suspicion of impairment by the officers is not proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

In body camera video obtained by the I-Team, you see Steele's interaction with officers.

Additional video shows her being place in cuffs and into the back of a squad car.
