CTA Yellow Line service restored after train crashes into car in Skokie

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) -- Service on the CTA Yellow Line has been restored after a train hit a car Tuesday.

Chopper 7 was over the scene about 2 p.m. at the crossing at Niles Center Road, and trains were stopped.



Video of the scene showed an SUV with rear-end damage.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the crash.



Passengers were seen being evacuated from the train involved.

Shuttle buses were requested from Skokie to Howard to provide connecting service through the area, the CTA said.

Skokie police were on the scene.
