FRANKFORT, Ill. (WLS) -- There's a prayer vigil Friday night in Frankfort after two children died in separate incidents in just one week.

People will gather at a downtown park to remember Barrett Walsh and Jenna Menias.

Walsh was killed last week in his family's home. His mother is facing murder charges.

Menias was hit and killed by a school bus in her family's Prestwick neighborhood on Tuesday.

Frankfort Mayor Keith Ogle joined ABC7 Chicago Thursday to talk about the incidents.

"We had storms roll through, and we sorta knew what to do. These things go much deeper, and people in the community are searching. We encourage (residents) to come out; come out as you are. Be part of the community, and let's work on healing," Ogle said.

The vigil is taking place at 7 p.m. at Breidert Garden, 432 W. Nebraska St.
