MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (WLS) -- Indiana State Police troopers are responding to a shooting on Interstate 65 near Merrillville, police said Monday afternoon.
Troopers are on southbound I-65, just north of 61st Avenue, police said just after 2:30 p.m.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes, police said.

Police did not immediately provide any additional information about what led up to the shooting or who was involved.
