Man arrested in Lincoln Park shooting outside bar, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man has been arrested for a Lincoln Park shooting that left a woman critically injured outside of a bar last month.



The shooting happened on Sunday, June 7 in the 600-block of West Belden Avenue around 4 a.m.

A 39-year-old woman was shot and took herself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

Now, police have arrested and charged Jaylin Jones, 23, in the shooting.



Jones was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery/discharge firearm.

He is due in court on Friday.

A deadly shooting near that same spot a few weeks later, led to the closure of a bar in the area.
