Woman shot, critically injured outside of Lincoln Park bar, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was shot and critically injured outside of a North Side bar early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Lincoln Park neighborhood's 600-block of West Belden Avenue around 4 a.m.

A 39-year-old woman was outside when she heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

The victim, who suffered gunshot wounds to her body, took herself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported, and detectives are investigating.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
