COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, Ill. (WLS) -- Parents are reacting to a middle school student witnessing his own father killed right in front of him as County Club Hills police continue to search for the suspects.

Grief counselors are available at Prairie-Hills District 144 Tuesday after a parent was killed at a school sporting event this weekend.

"I would like to know what would be the motive for that... that you would come and shoot someone in front of their child and in front of other children. And so I think with the grief counselors, it should help them," parent Bishop Williams said.

Saturday afternoon, police said suspects in masks and hoodies waited for the victim in the Hillcrest High School parking lot and shot 41-year-old Shamaree Siller in front of his middle-school aged son as they were leaving a basketball tournament.

"I mean it was our kids basketball team that was there so... Very scary situation as a parent, very scary," parent Wes Casper said.

"It's just uncalled for, unheard of and just disappointing," Williams said.

It's the second shooting at that school in just over a year.

"That just really, really hurts my heart that this child had to witness his father being gunned down in the parking lot," parent Shay Hollins. "I just really pray for his family."

Police released surveillance photos of the wanted vehicle, a black Infiniti Q50 sedan.

They said there's no evidence of a dispute inside the school... or the suspects ever entering the school that afternoon.

Shay Hollins has children at both Prairie-Hills and Hillcrest High School. She said she'd like to see more police presence and protection, given the growing concerns.

"It should not happen like this," Hollins said. "Literally the police station is directly across the street, we have to do better. We have to."

A school spokesperson said there were police at the school during Saturday's basketball tournament and said they prioritize safety at all school events, including sporting events.
