The Department of Streets and Sanitation added 10 more crews and two offices this spring in order to more aggressively tackle rodent control. A spokeswoman said new, more efficient garbage pick-ups have made it possible to dedicate more resources toward the city's rat problem.

Earlier this month, Orkin ranked Chicago as the nation's "rattiest" city based on the number of rodent treatments the pest control company performed in the past year.

If you have a rat complaint, call 311. The city said it's goal is to address those complaints within five days.
