Man allegedly sexually assaulted jogger at South Shore park, groped another victim days later: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police issued an alert about a man accused groping two people and sexually assaulting one of them on the city's South Side.

CPD said the attacks happened days apart in the South Shore neighborhood. In each incident, female victims were alone when a man attacked them from behind and groped them.



The first reported attack happened on the Rainbow Beach Park path in the 3100-block of East 79th Street. The suspect threw a 44-year-old jogger to the ground and sexually assaulted her just after 6 a.m. on June 13, police said.

The second reported attack happened in the 7700-block of South South Shore Drive just after 8 p.m. on June 15. Police said the victim, whose age was not immediately known, was able to flee after struggling with the attacker.



The man is described as 30-40 years old and 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall. He is a medium weight and has short hair.
