Woman sexually assaulted, robbed while jogging in Chicago park, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was sexually assaulted and robbed at Rainbow Park in the city's South Chicago neighborhood over the weekend, Chicago police said.

Police say the 44-year-old woman was jogging on a walking path about 6:05 a.m. Saturday morning in the 3100-block of East 79th Street when a man attacked her from behind and threw her to the ground.

He then stole her cell phone before running off, CPD said.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a blue gray shirt and blue jeans.

He's described as a man in his 30s, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches to 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and short black hair, with a medium build, police said.
