River Forest is one of several communities on the route.
Village leaders say they're concerned about its impact on residents and the natural environment since it would bisect Thatcher Woods.
Leaders also shared concern regarding pedestrian safety, emergency response times, traffic congestion, and crossing delays.
The proposal promises a 15-minute trip using existing rail tracks that begin on Canal Street below the Old Post Office Building.
John Digles, the CEO of "O'Hare Flyer," said he and his team were not invited to Monday's board meeting.
He's concerned that aspects of the project are being misunderstood or misrepresented.

In a statement, Digles said: "The O'Hare Flyer team has requested the opportunity to meet with the River Forest Village Board to present the project in detail and answer their questions."
"We are fully committed to meeting with the River Forest community as well. We were not invited to tonight's board meeting and have not yet received an invitation to meet with the board."
"We are concerned that several aspects of the project are being misunderstood or misrepresented."
