Monday is final day for 2018 Chicago Auto Show
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Monday is the last day for the nation's largest auto show and what better way than to spend it with family.
It's the last big hurrah at the Chicago Auto Show, and saving the best for last, this Family Day has everything from live performances to virtual reality.
It's the most family-friendly day of the Chicago Auto Show, when dozens of automakers and exhibitors feature fun, creative and hands-on programs for all ages.
Chevy's Virtual Dynamics Lab is a 360-degree virtual look behind the scenes of their rigorous vehicle testing from the front seat perspective.
If you want to experience drag racing, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Simulator is the next best thing.
"Our Demons actually do produce 840 horsepower, they have 770 pounds of torque and they do a zero to 60 mph run in 2.3 seconds," said Sharon Vesche of Dodge.
Sports is a big theme on family day: the Family Fun Zone is decked out in Blackhawks red.
"The star of the show, our custom Blackhawks Camaro, we're giving it away at the Blackhawks convention in July, register to win here. The car is beautiful," John Alfirevich of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers.
There are many custom cars at the Family Fun Zone, along with a chance to shoot the puck and spin the wheel for a chance to win some Blackhawks swag.
There are plenty of performances throughout the day from the lords and ladies of Medieval Times to My Party Princess, singing their way into your heart.
"We're in town on this President's Day weekend and looking to get out of the cold rainy weather and we thought we'd come here and see what there is to do and the kids are loving it!" said Auto Show visitor Cory Daverman.
"They love it, we like looking at the cars, showing off, having a good time with the guys," said Auto Show visitor Zac Bailey.
"It's my daughter's first Auto Show, I've been coming here the last 25 years and I never miss it," said Auto Show visitor Michael Backer.
"It's cool - hopefully I can come back some more times," said Auto Show visitor Kaitlin Backer.
Whether you're here to spend some quality time with your family, or as a consumer looking for your next purchase, there's something for everyone to enjoy at the Chicago Auto Show.
In the lobby underneath the big globe, the 100 Club will be accepting donations for first responders and their families in honor of Chicago Police Commander Paul Bauer, who was shot and killed last week.
The final day of the Auto Show wraps up at 8 p.m.
