CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Black Friday protest was staged in front of the Walmart on the city's North Side, calling for large retailers to pay $15-an-hour minimum wage.

Organizers said groups are calling attention to what they call a "hunger crisis."

Demonstrators said many Walmart workers aren't paid enough to feed their families.

A Walmart spokesperson said they already offer better wages than many others in the industry.

Protesters also planned to march to a Best Buy and a Bank of America branch.
