CHICAGO (WLS) -- Joliet contractor Joseph Hisel was ordered to pay back a homeowner following an ABC7 I-Team report as Will County officials say they are looking into more allegations of home repair fraud.

Hisel was sentenced to a year of court supervision on a theft charge, fined $200 and ordered Hisel to pay back the resident the $1,801. A theft by deception charge was dropped.

A Will County spokesperson said Hisel paid back the homeowner Monday.

Hisel, who ignored calls and refused to talk to the I-Team at his Joliet home, is accused of leaving at least two homeowners with unfinished basements after they paid him anywhere from $7,000 to $15,000.

Will County prosecutors said they are reviewing similar claims from other homeowners and attorneys.

Hisel is also being investigated by the Illinois attorney general and was recently indicted in Grundy County on three felony counts related to home repair fraud.
