UPS to hire more than 4,000 in Chicago area

CHICAGO (WLS) -- UPS plans to hire more than 4,000 people in the Chicagoland area, according to a statement from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office.

The jobs, which are full-time and part-time seasonal positions, will be located at 11 Chicago-area operating locations including O'Hare.

The hires are part of the fall hiring initiative at UPS.

The city is hosting a series of hiring events to fill the positions, which will be held on the following dates:

Saturday, Oct. 18: Truman College, 1145 W. Wilson Ave., from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 25: Olive-Harvey College, 10001 S. Woodlawn Ave., from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
