CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Public Schools officials are backing off on a plan to change the start time at dozens of schools this year.
The changes will reportedly save $5 million dollars in transportation costs as opposed to $9 million as originally announced.
CPS won't change the start time at 34 schools after receiving complaints from parents and teachers.
Forty of the schools will keep the new start times announced last week. Eight schools agreed to alternative start times.
