CHICAGO (WLS) -- There are new details about a possible deal between Chicago teachers and the school district.
The Chicago Teachers Union said it received a "serious offer" from Chicago Public Schools as contract talks wrapped up late Thursday.
According to published reports, the offer would bar layoffs, cap the number of privately-run charter schools and provide moderate pay increases.
In return, teachers would have to pay more toward their pensions and health care.
The union's bargaining team will vote on the offer Monday.
