CHICAGO (WLS) -- The longest-serving principal at one of Chicago's oldest private schools is now honored with a street that bears his name.
A one-block stretch of North Fremont Street in the city's Lincoln Park neighborhood is now Warren Gast Way.
Principal Gast is retiring after 41 years at St. James Lutheran School.
The church and school threw him a party on Sunday.
Among those at the celebration were students and teachers from the class of 1975 - Gast's first year at the school.
St. James has been in operation since 1857.
