Here's how to get 'Hamilton' tickets for the open-ended Chicago run.

"Hamilton: An American Musical" is about the life of American founding father Alexander Hamilton.

The show focuses on how he went from being an orphan in the Caribbean to being General George Washington's right hand. Music, lyrics and book (the script) were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. He won Tony Awards for music and book and the show won 11 Tonys in all this year including "Best Musical."

Tickets for the Chicago residency go on sale Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10 a.m. "Hamilton" has an open-ended run right now which means it has no end date. Producers expect the show to run at least two years. You will be able to buy tickets for performances from Sept. 27, 2016 to March 19, 2017.

It is the most anticipated ticket, dare I say, in Broadway In Chicago history. So how does one in Chicago land tickets?

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?

Regular seats sell from $65-180; Premium Seats are $500. More than 1,700 seats will sell at regular prices for each performance.

WHERE DO I BUY TICKETS?

Tickets should only be bought at the following places:

ONLINE - Ticketmaster.com or BroadwayInChicago.com

PHONE - Broadway In Chicago - 800-775-2000

BOX OFFICE - The PrivateBank Theatre, 18 W. Monroe. No other Broadway In Chicago box office will be selling "Hamilton" tickets on June 21.

These are the only authorized sellers. If you choose to buy tickets outside of these venues, you are taking a chance and could be ripped off. New York is filled with stories of people who bought tickets to "Hamilton" from re-sellers only to get to the theatre and discover they had fake tickets. If this happens, you're out of luck.

Seats for most of the early shows went to Broadway In Chicago subscribers and group ticket sales. Same goes for the holidays. Tickets are available, but harder to get. Focus on getting tickets in January, February and March. You have a better chance.

IS THERE AN ADVANTAGE TO BUYING AT THE BOX OFFICE VERSUS ONLINE?

YES! There is a huge advantage. The box office at The PrivateBank Theatre, 18 W. Monroe, will not only have all three windows selling tickets, but additional terminals are being set up to accommodate more people. The lines will move quickly because ticket sales are faster. One swipe of the credit card and done. You get your tickets on the spot and best of all, NO TICKET FEES! You only pay the price of the tickets.

IF I AM BUYING TICKETS ONLINE, WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW?

If you don't have a TicketMaster.com account set up, do that now. If you do have a TicketMaster.com account, log in and update all of your information including addresses and credit card numbers. Once you get tickets allocated to you online, you only have a few minutes to complete your transaction.

Also, get a game plan. Have multiple people trying at the same time - you, your spouse, your children, co-workers, etc. Whomever you are taking to the show, have them try with you on multiple devices to secure tickets.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS... THERE IS THE LOTTERY!

Every day there is a performance, you can enter the lottery online. Details about the lottery are coming later this summer. Forty-four seats will be randomly selected. If you are selected, you get a seat(s) for $10 - on the first or second row, or in the theatre boxes. 18,000 seats per year will be sold at this price. And the cost to enter the lottery - FREE!

Best of luck to you and I hope to see you at "Hamilton: An American Musical!"
