Sunday night marked the Golden Globes, the award show known as "Hollywood's biggest party," and the team behind The Revenant had plenty to celebrate.

Though Carol topped the list of nominations, it did not receive any wins. Instead the star of the night was an adventure thriller about an explorer who is mauled by a bear, The Revenant. It took home three awards: best picture in the drama category, best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio and best director for Alejandro G. Inarritu.

For film nominees, taking home a statue from the Golden Globe Awards is often viewed as a good sign ahead of the Oscars, which will announce its nominees Thursday morning.
