Renee Zellweger responds to internet frenzy over her new look

Renee Zellweger is speaking out after her new look caused buzz around the internet Tuesday.

She spoke to People Magazine exclusively, saying her new look is a reflection of a healthier, happier lifestyle.

"I'm glad folks think I look different," she told People, though she called all the attention her look is drawing "silly."

"I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life," she said "and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows."

ABC programming had an unintentional nod to the trending topic Tuesday during its new show "Selfie." Though the episode was filmed before the buzz about Zellweger's red carpet appearance picked up, the show included a joke about how different the Oscar-winner looks now compared with how most people picture her.
