Same Calif. doctor delivers mom, dad and baby

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. -- It was special delivery for one local family: the same doctor delivered mom, dad and then their baby more than two decades later.

When it was time to have their first baby, Breanna and Kevin Fleischman knew exactly who to turn to: Dr. Barrie May. The Laguna Hills doctor delivered Kevin in October 1984, and then delivered Breanna in April 1986.

About 30 years later, it was time for the high school sweethearts to have their baby.

"I always knew I was going to see Dr. May," said Breanna.

Dr. May delivered baby Maverick earlier this month.

The doctor has worked in the community for 41 years. May has delivered more than 10,000 babies since his first delivery in 1968, but never before has he delivered mom, dad and baby.

He says it's impossible to remember all the babies he's delivered, but he does remember Kevin and Breanna's parents.

"The pleasant fact was that I remembered both of the husbands. That was quite nice," said May.

May is set to retire in the next year and a half, something the Fleischmans are well aware of.

"I hope he's still around when we have our second kid," Breanna said with a laugh.
