CHICAGO (WLS) -- Not sure what to do with the kids while they are home from school for Christmas break? Donna Bozzo, "The Lady with the Alligator Purse," shares some fun ideas to keep the kids busy and entertained.



Ice Skating at the Maggie Daley Ice Ribbon


The newly opened park, named after beloved former first lady of Chicago Maggie Daley, is a great place to take the family for some outdoor fun this winter.



'Cinderella' on Broadway


Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella opens Dec 16th at the Cadillac Palace Theater. Tickets start at about $65.

At Sur La Table's Kids and Teens Holiday Cooking Camp, kids learn how to make a variety of sweet and savory dishes from around the world for two fun filled days. Instructors cover fundamentals such as basic knife skills, reading recipes and kitchen safety. Little chefs practice making meatballs, homemade pasts, tamales and deserts. The class costs $100 for two days.



Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier


Find thrills without the chills inside the 14th annual Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier, featuring 170,000 square feet of Chicago Blackhawks indoor ice skating and more than 25 rides including an indoor Ferris Wheel, attractions and so much more.



Meet a scientist at The Field Museum


Every Friday in December you can meet a scientist at the Field Museum. From 10 a.m. - noon scientists will be out in the museum sharing the wonders of the Field's collections and highlights of their research. Hear about their work, see real artifacts and specimens from the over 24 million objects not on display at the Field. Topics range from birds to insects, mammals to plants and pottery to spear points. This activity is free with museum admission.
