ABC7's Windy City Live and Peapod kick off contest to find "Peapod's Next Best" February 1 at 11:00 am.

ABC 7's Windy City LIVE and America's leading online grocer Peapod are searching Chicagoland for "Peapod's Next Best" new product through an on-air contest kicking off Feb. 1 through March 7. Popular Peapod food expert Tony Stallone will join co-hosts Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini, along with contributor Ji Suk Yi, as the best and brightest of Chicago's food and beverage talent tell the compelling stories behind what makes their products great. The winner of "Peapod's Next Best" will get a one-year distribution deal from Peapod across Midwest markets and will be announced live on the show March 7.

"Peapod is one of the great 'born-in-Chicago' success stories and we are passionate about sharing our knowledge of the grocery industry with the next generation of the Windy City's food and beverage entrepreneurs," said Tony Stallone, Peapod's VP of Fresh Markets and an advisor for "Peapod's Next Best" contestants.

Stallone continued, "We started out right here in Chicago and gradually expanded to 24 U.S. markets over 25 years of innovation. We have every hope that the "Next Best" product in food or beverage is going to be found right here on Windy City LIVE in sweet home Chicago."

Selected entrants and will be scored on their product's: taste, packaging, marketability, innovation and product strategy. Those entrants will then pitch their product to Tony Stallone and a panel of chef judges at ABC 7 for a series of segments to air during Windy City LIVE the week of February 29th.
