Glenwood double murder under investigation
A man and a woman were found dead inside a home in south suburban Glenwood.

GLENWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A man and a woman found dead inside a home in south suburban Glenwood were identified Friday morning. Investigators are looking into whether the man who called 911 is the person responsible for their murders.

He is under police supervision at St. James Hospital and may be the only person with answers in the case.

Police got a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. Thursday from a man who claimed to have killed his wife and son.

When officers arrived at the home on East 194th Street near Minerva Avenue, they found an unconscious man bleeding with self-inflicted cuts. They found another man and a woman dead on the floor upstairs.

They were identified to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Irvens Williams, 33, and Delphenia Williams, 68.

"I never would have expected this. He really was a good person - he is a good person - but he had a very, very beautiful wife," said Carolyn Phillips, a neighbor.

"I'm not sure exactly what goes on. I'm not sure what happened. All I know is my friend is not here right now," said Sheron Davis, a friend of the family.

Neighbors said a father, mother and two sons lived in the Glenwood home for years.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force partnered with Glenwood police for the investigation.
