CHICAGO (WLS) -- A child being monitored for Ebola at University of Chicago Medical Center has tested negative for the virus and has been discharged, health officials said.
The child recently traveled from West Africa to Chicago and had a fever during screening at O'Hare Airport Friday morning. The child had no other Ebola symptoms, but was quarantined for testing in accordance with infection control protocols, officials said.
The child continued to be in stable condition Saturday, when test results were released.
