TINLEY PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- The Cook County Health Department shut down the deli at a grocery store after nine people may have become ill with salmonella.
It happened at the Jewel store in Tinley Park at 171st and Harlem.
The health department shut down the deli for an inspection and it was re-opened a few hours later with new products and a new set of food handlers.
Work surfaces, utensils and storage cases were also cleaned and sanitized.
The health department says they are still waiting for test results and have not yet confirmed that salmonella was found.
