CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two people were killed and a third person was wounded in a shooting in southwest suburban Joliet.

Investigators said the victims were ambushed in a driveway in the 400-block of Strong Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The two people killed are identified as Tariq Purnell, 17, of Joliet, and Keon Kelly, 30, of Lockport, by the Will County Coroner's Office. Purnell was pronounced dead at the scene. Kelly was taken to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, where he later died. Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday.

"He loved his nieces. He loved anybody... He was a good kid. Despite anything that goes on, no momma needs to bury their child," Purnell's sister said.

"This ain't no game. This is for real. This is for real. You can't just take nobody's kid like this. This ain't straight," Sylvania Shade, Purnell's cousin, said.

The third victim, an unidentified man, was shot in the backside and taken to Loyola University Medical Center.

Police are collecting evidence and looking for witnesses, but have not released information about what may have led to the shooting.

"We've had some people call but nothing real concrete yet. We are doing interviews now, so hopefully we'll get something out of that," Dept. Chief Alan Roechner said.

No one is in custody.
