CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Police released pictures Monday night of two men wanted in the sexual attack of two women who were assaulted and beaten on early Friday as they walked together near Lake and Halsted.
Police always say if you're out late at night, don't walk alone. The two victims heeded that warning and were together, but were attacked anyway.
The men police are looking for were captured by surveillance cameras around the time of the attack.
"We see a lot of things late at night, but it's never anything that's disturbing or something to be worried about," said West Loop resident Catherine Nault.
The two female victims, police say, were walking to their vehicle around 4 a.m. Friday when they were approached by the two suspects near Lake and Halsted. Both women were beat up and then sexually assaulted.
"You're supposed to be safe in numbers. To have something like that happen to you with a friend right next to you... really scary," West Loop resident Sean Bresnahan said.
Police say one of the men had short blond hair, the other had a dark beard and wore a light colored baseball cap. Their vehicle was described as a light or gold-colored four door.
"It is alarming," Nault said. "A robbery, maybe. But an actual assault on two women?"
This incident happened a block from the popular Randolph Street restaurant and bar corridor. And residents say they see police here at all hours.
