2 off-duty CPD officers involved in River North fight; 3rd suspect at large

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two off-duty Chicago police officers were involved in a fight with three male strangers as they left a club in the city's River North neighborhood early Friday morning.

The two officers, ages 32 and 25, and a woman were leaving the club in the 400-block of North LaSalle Drive around 2 a.m. when the argument began. It turned physical and the older officer sustained injuries to his face, police said.

The 32-year-old officer was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released. The 25-year-old officer was not visibly hurt in the fight and refused medical treatment, police said.

The woman, who was not involved in the fight, fainted at the scene and was also transported to Northwestern, where police said her condition stabilized.

Earlier in the day Friday, police said the woman had been injured in the fight and was listed in critical condition at Northwestern. Police also said the man who was injured in the fight was listed in serious condition at Northwestern.

No one else was hurt.

Surveillance video from a local business showed a man chasing two of the suspects shortly after the attack. Police caught the two not far away, at the Rock and Roll McDonald's in the 600-block of North Clark Street. Charges are pending against them.

Investigators are looking for a third suspect.

Area Central detectives are handling the investigation. They have not said what led to the argument.
