Two men shot, one killed in Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Donte Blackwell, 23, was killed and another 21-year-old man was injured in an overnight shooting in Evanston, police say.

Police say two males on bicycles rode up and shot the two men around 1:30 a.m. in the 1800-block of Dodge Avenue.

The 21-year-old victim, an Evanston resident, was shot in the arm and leg and is expected to recover. Blackwell, who is from Niles, died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police believe both men were targeting. The investigation is ongoing.
