Volunteers for the Salvation Army's red kettle campaign have seen some unique donations over the last few weeks.

In LaPorte County, Ind., several gold crowns, a gold bridge and a silver bridge were dropped in one red kettle, says coordinator Ketra Bolster. She said the dental work was mailed off for appraisal.

In Orlando, Fla., someone put four gold teeth in one of the kettles. Employees aren't sure yet how much those are worth.

Some other valuable donations so far this year in Florida have included a five-ounce silver bar, valued at $92, a 2013 U.S. silver coin, valued at $17, and the largest donation, a 1986 gold South African coin. It's valued at nearly $1,300.
