Circle Interchange to be renamed to honor Jane Byrne

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago's iconic gateway, the Circle Interchange, will be renamed in honor of Chicago's first and only female mayor, Jane Byrne.

This Friday, Gov. Pat Quinn will officially unveil the new sign for the Mayor Jane Byrne Interchange.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel says Byrne is an icon who has been ignored, but no longer forgotten.

There is no date set for the rededication of the old Water Tower Park, also to be renamed in Byrne's honor.
