Concealed carry permit holder shoots at Crestwood robbery suspect

CRESTWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A customer with a concealed carry permit shot at a robbery suspect as he ran from an AT&T store in Crestwood last Saturday. The suspect was not struck.

A police officer arriving on the scene had to stop chasing the suspect and take cover as the shots were fired.

Demetrius Merrill, 17, is being held on $1 million bond. He was arrested after a search of a wooded area next to the Cal Sag Channel.

The customer with the concealed carry permit has not been charged.
