CHICAGO (WLS) -- A construction crew hit a gas main Tuesday afternoon while working in the Hyde Park neighborhood on Chicago's South Side.
Peoples Gas said an electrical contractor was cutting concrete with a saw when the gas line was hit in the 1300-block of East 52nd Street.
Utility workers opened up the street to get to the line and they were able to secure the line and make temporary repairs.
Officials said gas will be restored by Tuesday evening and a full repair will be made on Wednesday.
