Damarius Wren, 18, charged in murder of flight attendant DeCarol Deloney-Cain

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- Damarius Wren is charged with murder after the body of flight attendant DeCarol Deloney-Cain was found inside the trunk of her car in a remote section of Gary, Ind.

Wren, 18, was charged in the case on Friday. He identified himself to police as the boyfriend of Deloney-Cain's daughter, Alyssa Barrett, police said, when they searched the family's Crown Point, Ind., home. According to an affidavit, he admitted to police that he killed Deloney-Cain in her home, put her body in the trunk of her car, and left the vehicle in Gary.

Her body was found Monday, but her identity was not released until Wednesday. She had been stabbed, beaten, bound, and her head put into a pillow case before her body was wrapped in plastic, according to an affidavit. She was identified through serial numbers found in breast implants.

Deloney -Cain was last seen by her family on July 3, 2014. When the flight attendant failed to show up for work three days later, United Airlines called her estranged husband, which led to a report of a missing person.

According to the affidavit, Wren called on friends to help him remove the body. He said Barrett was in the house during the attack, but not involved.

Barrett allegedly told police that she was forced at gun point to withdraw money from her mother's bank account, and was told that she would be implicated if she went to police. She said she knew Wren and his friends were planning to rob her mother, according to the affidavit.

"The Deloney family, is a family that knows we are in God's protection. We have no direct ill will toward anyone. We only ask that justice be served," Todd Deloney, victim's brother, said.
