LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. (WLS) -- The father of a suburban daycare worker convicted of killing a toddler is demanding that prosecutors work to free her from prison.

"This is your opportunity to do what's right, you need to let my daughter go, enough is enough," Paul Calusinski said.

Melissa Calusinski was found guilty of first- degree murder in the death of Benjamin Kingan and has been behind bars for six years.

But this week the Lake County Coroner determined the death was not a homicide. Calusinski says he talked to his daughter Friday about the latest developments.

"She's really ecstatic about everything that's transpiring, she's ready to come home," Paul Calusinski said.

Calusinski says a march will be held next week demanding the release of his daughter.
