Deer found hanging out in Wrigleyville
Residents in the 1300-block of W. Addison said a deer had been chilling out all morning in the courtyard of a Wrigleyville apartment building.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- This deer must've had a rough night on Clark Street.

Residents in the 1300-block of W. Addison said a deer had been chilling out all morning in the courtyard of a Wrigleyville apartment building.

Residents said he'd been in the same spot for hours before Animal Care and Control came to tranquilize the animal just after noon.

"I got close to him, he started backing up and got in stealth mode, looked pretty still. But it was big, with the antlers and what not. Very impressive. I think Santa lost a deer," said Freddie Burton, a neighborhood resident.

The deer was taken to get checked out by a veterinarian then released to a Cook County forest preserve.
