Search underway for missing swimmer in LaPorte County lake

LA PORTE, Ind. (WLS) -- Authorities are searching for a missing swimmer in a northwest Indiana lake.

The LaPorte County Sheriff's Department said a 21-year-old man was swimming off a pontoon boat with friends on Pine Lake, near La Porte. He under around 6:45 p.m. Friday and hasn't been seen since.

Divers and sonar are being used to search for the man. Authorities said they were in about 15 to 25 feet of water about 350 feet from shore.
