Divvy may add helmet rentals in Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago's Divvy bike sharing program is exploring the possibility of adding helmet rentals, program officials said.

Divvy managers say helmet rental technology is new, and they are looking at technologies being used in other cities as possible options.

Divvy reports that out of more than 1.5 million trips taken in its first year, there were only about 10 incidents reported.

For now, Divvy is offering discounts for helmet purchases on its website.
