Ed Thomas acquitted in Demarius Reed murder trial

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The jury at the trial of a man charged with shooting and killing a college football player from Chicago has found him not guilty.

Demarius Reed, 20, attended Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. Prosecutors charged Ed Thomas with his murder, but the JURY found Thomas not guilty of all charges.

Another suspect in the case, Kristopher Pratt, pleaded guilty to second degree murder for his part in the crime.
