CHICAGO (WLS) -- A bomb threat led police with bomb-sniffing dogs to conduct a sweep at the Kluczynski Federal Building, located at 230 S. Dearborn in Chicago's Loop, Thursday morning. The all clear was given several hours later.

According to a federal source who spoke with the ABC7 I-Team, officials said someone called in the bomb threat to 911 around 7:15 a.m. Thursday, which prompted authorities to sweep the building. Six bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in. One dog hit on something in the tunnel between the Kluczynski building and post office, which led officials to evacuate the building, the source said. The bomb squad responded, but found nothing and the "all clear" was given early Thursday afternoon.

The Federal Protective Service is in charge of the investigation.

In an abundance of caution, the US Marshals Service swept nearby Dirksen Federal Building.
