Flames were through the roof when Naperville firefighters arrived on the scene in the 400-block of East Ogden Avenue in the west suburb around 2 a.m.

"The fire had a large amount of smoke and fire, so it took us a long time to get a good hit on the fire. We brought the fire under control in about 45 minutes," Naperville Fire Deputy Chief Rick Sander said.

Firefighters from several neighboring departments lent a hand. Officials said the damage was extensive - and estimated $400,000.

The restaurant was closed when the fire started, and no one was injured.

Grandma Sally's been in the neighborhood for more than 30 years. Jane Collins said it's the most welcoming restaurant in Naperville.

"They're just part of our family. You walk in the door and you feel like you've come home," Collins said.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
