CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago apartment complex that was once home to such people as Gwendolyn Brooks, Nat King Cole and Quincy Jones is about to be renovated.
Ground was broken Wednesday on the Rosenwald Apartments in the Bronzeville community.
The complex has been vacant for the last 15 years, but after the renovation is complete it will provide mixed income housing for seniors and families.
The Rosenwald was constructed in 1929 to provide affordable housing for working class African Americans.
