CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago officials are saying cheers to the makers of Jim Beam bourbon whiskey moving their headquarters to Chicago, bringing 450 positions with them.
Right now, Beam Suntory is headquartered in Deerfield.
The spirit company's CEO said the move to Chicago was a no-brainer.
"It's where increasingly our core consumers live and work, particularly that millennial population. It's also home to some of our progressive customers, to keep bars and restaurants in such a trend-forward city in Chicago with its food and beverage culture. And also it's a great place to bring our talent together," said Beam Suntory CEO Matthew Shattock.
Beam Suntory also makes Maker's Mark and Canadian Club.
