ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (WLS) -- Jury selection is underway at the trial of D'Andre Howard. He is accused of killing three members of his girlfriend's family at their Hoffman Estates home in 2009.
Fifty-seven potential jurors were questioned Tuesday at the courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
Howard is accused of killing 18-year-old Laura Engelhardt, 57-year-old Alan Engelhardt and 73-year-old Marlene Gacek after an argument with his then-girlfriend, Amanda Engelhardt.
Defense attorneys are expected to argue that Howard was legally insane.
