Karen Lewis makes public appearance at CTU meeting

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis is back in the spotlight.

She made a public appearance at the CTU House of Delegates meeting Wednesday evening. Less than two months ago, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Lewis began a brief campaign for mayor before withdrawing because of her illness.

She's now reportedly gone back to union work part-time.
