Last people to see Kyrian Knox, 2, alive 'not cooperating,' CPD says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have been unable to contact the last two people who knew the whereabouts of Kyrian Knox, Chief of Detectives Dean Andrews said Thursday. The 2-year-old boy's dismembered body was found in the Garfield Park Lagoon in early September.

Knox's feet, hands and head were found in the Garfield Park Lagoon in early September, but he was not identified until November when DNA tests matched that of the missing Rockford boy.

The toddler was staying with family friends when he disappeared. Andrews said it is "frustrating" police have not been able to contact Danyelle Foggs and Kamel Harris

despite traveling to Milwaukee in their search for answers. Harris told Rockford police he last saw Kyrian when he handed the toddler over to another friend.

"We have tried numerous times to contact these people," Andrews said. "We don't believe they're running. We know where they are... They're just not cooperating."

They're not responding to requests to talk to police, Andrews said. Harris and Foggs are considered witnesses.

"It's unfathomable that you find body parts of a child, and you won't cooperate?" Andrews said.

Knox's foot was found on September 5, 2015. The gruesome discovery prompted officials to drain the Garfield Park lagoon in an effort to find more of the child's remains.
